Feel Good!

If you want to feel good, real good, here’s what you should do:

Walk tall. The most significant effort you can make to boost your morale is to let the world see a confident you. The first step towards that is to walk tall and confident, strutting through life as if you know exactly where you’re headed.

Empower yourself. There is no greater feeling of power than that which is endowed by knowledge. Identify the areas, which you would like to empower yourself thus and take a go at it. Is it Art? History? Politics? Economics? Science? Technology? What stops you from picking up books, surfing the internet or even just asking questions?

Energize yourself. When you breathe in, imagine you are breathing in all the goodness of the world, allowing your system to be nourished and refreshed by it. Having thus cleansed your system, when you breathe out, your emotional toxins are dispelled. Enjoy the new sense of power you feel. Breathe in and say, “I’m powerful,” breathe out and say. “I’m beautiful.” Repeat this a number of times and you will feel a new rush of blood through your body.

Feel good about yourself. Learn to love yourself and the life you lead. There will always be those extra kilos to shed, those qualities you wish your partner had, that car you wish to buy or the house you wish t own. But there is no greater happiness and success in conquering the discontent of the moment and being satisfied.

Get fit. Being fit and healthy is the greatest energy and confidence booster you can give yourself Instead of blaming yourself for not eating right and bingeing on the wrong things, cultivate some positive addictions. Try going for a daily dose of exercise: be it a walk, a workout at the gym or just floor exercises at home.

Eat judiciously. Rather than feeling dejected at the weight you keep putting on because of a junk food eating habit, develop the habit of eating healthy foods to keep yourself fit and slim. It is said that you can actually eat to remain slim by eating right.

Experts opine that the process of chewing and digesting foods such as celery, mushrooms, broccoli and tomatoes, when not fried actually makes you expend more calories than you take by eating them.

Remain calm. This is indeed a rare quality and if you were to successfully cultivate it, more than half your life’s worries would be over. Stress and tension are the cause of more disease than we know of. Fatigue and irritability are also caused by stress.

People who can remain calm under the most difficult circumstances are the ones who emerge successfully from any situation.

Meditate. The practice of meditation is one of the best techniques of learning to be calm and distracting yourself from loneliness. Focus on an imaginary image that gives a feeling of peace. For example, watch television rather than feeling ill towards a person you hate. After a while. you will feel a sense of calm descend upon you. Enjoy this state for a while. Allow it to seep in through your toes and ends of the fingers to the rest of your body and give in the calming flow. When you come back to the present, allow that sense of calm to remain with you for the rest of the day.

Listen to music. You could use music as a tool for meditation. Choose any music that makes you instantly positive and relaxes you. This helps them keep their mind off other inner chatter.

Get beautiful. Try soothing away tension with the help of aromatherapy and light facial massages. Have a makeover by altering your fashion statement. Practice daily hygiene to look good and neat. This will not just help you relax and release all negative energy but also leaves you glowing and with a clearer skin, thus giving an automatic boost to your confidence level.

Bring in adventure. Bring in some adventure into your life and that of your family by trying new things, by yourself and together. Adventure helps the adrenaline flow and gives a sudden burst of energy to you. Collectively done, such endeavors could help give a new life to stagnating relationships.

Try a parachute jump, bungee jumping, or even something as simple as an exhilarating roller coaster ride or just a picnic! As a bonding experience, this can be great.

Love your job. Remember, a job is just that: a job. Actually. life is beyond the job. This will always help you through the ups and downs of your career and will help you deal more cheerfully with the lows.

So when dejected, just turn your attention around to some positive aspect of the job and concentrate on that. Bid your way till things come around. Always concentrate on keeping your confidence level up.

Remember happy moments. Revisit happy memories. There is no greater mood booster than to sit back and think through earlier happy memories. If you are one of those who keep mementos, you could go through these. If not, just lie back, close your eyes and let some of the happiest moments of your life just flash by. This is guaranteed to get you out of the stressful experience with a relaxed and happy frame of life.

Make a wish list. List out all the things that would make you happy in life. Most often, we just have a general feeling of dissatisfaction without actually knowing what it is in life that we want.

Make a list of all the things you would wish for, how you’d love to be living, and the achievements you would be proud of in this life. This will not just give you direction but also a sense of purpose and renewed confidence.

Pamper yourself. Go on, indulge yourself. Every once in a while, all of us deserve it. Give in to the urge. Go spend a day at the beautician’s and relax under expert hands. Or go out and watch a movie.

Get a regular massage. A massage can help one relax, improve the blood circulation, help digestion and even help eliminate waste products from the system faster by stimulating the lymphatic system. It is one of the best ways to release stress and help you feel pampered and well cared for.

Studies conducted by experts have revealed that massages given to patients of asthma, AIDS and cancer have helped relieve some of these symptoms. In one such study, asthmatics receiving daily massages reported less severe symptoms. This could be due to the lessening of stress levels. Definitely, a massage would give a great boost to you.

Catch up on your sleep. Getting a good night’s sleep is high on the list of things to do to boost your health and fitness levels. A tired mind and tired body are both not conducive to our well-being. If you have slept well, you are bound to experience a great sense of peace, calm, well as mental alertness.

Apart from that, sleeping well also lessens the chances of your becoming tense and jumpy at situations. It also adds to your looks, which in itself is a great morale booster!
